From the sad simplicity and grace of his NY Times heralded film scores to the ornate and diverse string sections ringing throughout his brand new LP, Keegan DeWitt is someone who represents the human heart in all it’s variations. A native son to Portland, Oregon, Keegan left home at 17 to study at the exclusive SUNY Purchase film conservatory in New York. It’s here where he began developing his unique talent for translating the human experience into art.

Over the past three years Keegan has opened for the likes of Rhett Miller, M Ward, and Roman Candle all while scoring over ten films. His score for Quiet City helped earn the film an Independent Spirit Award nomination and was singled out in the New York Times review of the film. His latest release Islands pulls from literary and cinematic references to create layers steeped in moments, images, and scattered memories throughout.

For singer / songwriter Marina Chello, music has been everything for as long as she can remember. Originally from Uzbekistan, Marina learned English from singers like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion. After years of voice and music classes, Marina began writing her own songs, eventually reaching out to notable producers via her Myspace Page. She greatly impressed legendary producer and Bad Boy Records President Harve Pierre, and is now preparing to release her debut album, What’s Done Is Done, on Crazy Joint / Bad Boy.

There is significant excitement brewing around the young singer as she finishes recording her album, a heartache-heavy hybrid of next-level pop and R&B. Her single “Sideline” is already being picked up by Top 40 stations across the country and continues to gain momentum, while her uptempo track “What’s Done Is Done” has also been snapped up by DJs across the country. A flurry of glowing online profiles and reviews on sites including Elle Girl, Teen, Young Hollywood, Alloy, MySpace and Imeem, just to name a few, have solidified the buzz, as fans hurry to upload their own versions of her songs on YouTube.

Since she grew up singing in several languages, including Russian, Spanish, and Italian, she brings a unique perspective to pop music. Her sound blends all the elements that have gone into the making of a young artist on the eve of great success – the inherently relatable songwriting that reflects a childhood glued to the radio, the passion of a young girl raised between two cultures, and the energy of collaborating with some of today’s most notable producers. With What’s Done Is Done, it’s clear that there’s a new voice on the scene, and as “Sideline” continues its climb up the charts, Marina is ready to take center stage. Buy “Sideline” now on iTunes, and check out her Myspace page for more information.

Mitchel began working on and recording the album in the summer of 2008. Musso worked with Sam Hollander, Dave Katz , Curt Schneider, Matthew Wilder and other producers and songwriters to produce the album in both Los Angeles and New York. Musso himself also contributed to the songwriting process by co-writing on 4 of the album’s thirteen tracks. Mitchel sings solo on all of the tracks except two titled “Us Against the World” and “Shout It.” The two are a duet featuring singer Katelyn Tarver and Musso’s brother Mason Musso respectively.

In an interview regarding his thoughts on the tracks from the album, Musso stated: “But actually my favorite song off my album is a duet, Us Against The World and it’s my favorite song. I feel like it’s got the most uh, it’s kind of a dark vibe but at the same time it’s a really upbeat like uh, I would say a happy song. You know what I mean it’s all about getting Us Against The World and having someone with you to go through it together and just the fans all together. And I think the girls voice, her name’s Katelyn Tarver – she’s like unbelievable, so it was awesome getting her on the track.” Aside from the four songs in which Mitchel co-wrote, the rest of tracks were written and produced by a variety of music producing member of which Musso said in regards to the songwriting process: “You know I don’t have a problem with the whole like, you know how a lot of people are like ‘Oh when you’re your own artist you write your own stuff’. And I get that completely, but at the same time isn’t it better to have more ideas floating around than just yourself.”

The album was released on June 2, 2009. It was released as a digital download and as a physical CD. The physical CD includes a fold-out poster of Musso. They also include a exclusive stream of “Let’s Make This Last 4Ever,” which will be available once the album is purchased. The entire album was aired on Radio Disney, three days before it’s release,on May 30, 2009.

Musso will promote the album by touring the summer and performing at events across the United States including dates at Six Flags, on the Disney Cruise, at the Terrific Teen Tour, and many other venues. He will also perform as an opening act for his brother’s band Metro Station for dates that have yet to be announced.

The great Frank Zappa put it best when he said “Modern music is people who can’t think signing artists who can’t write songs to make records for people who can’t hear”.

Music can be found nearly anywhere, whether in the flowing of water, bustling of trees, knocks at the door and even in the waves of the ocean. Music can be created but it’s difficult to destroy it. Music doesn’t know any boundaries and everyone on this earth can connect to music in some way or another. Many studies have been done to find the affect of music on plants, pets and humans. The effect of music is not subtle, but can be easily seen almost instantly. Music has been used to cure people either by enhancing existing emotions or even changing the basic nature of a person. It is used for increasing productivity, decreasing anxiety and many other functions that it performs which go unnoticed most of the time.

Choosing music on your taste can be difficult – try something new like choosing music by thinking what you have to accomplish and how will you do it. If you choose music in this way, you would definitely feel the difference and will be benefited by the power of music. If you wish to do some work which requires active participation or something that consumes lot of mental energy, listen to music which is fast paced and more upbeat. Don’t go for heavy metal or music with heavy beats as it will increase the productivity but will also increase the level of adrenaline and stress making it tough to accomplish a task.

If you are working in stressful conditions where physical work is not required and more concentration is required in the work, listen to music like jazz, something soft and soothing. Once you have your choice of music, you have to look for music from various sources.
